We started our year praising the power of love. Now, with the whole world under COVID 19, our first blog is to praise the power of community strength.
As you might well know by now, this virus has taken the world by storm, transforming in a matter of months our lives. From health systems to economic impact, listening to a recent interview of Ray Dalio about the four vital factors for world recovery there was one that stroke a cord: the way we treat each other. Sounds so simple, and yet there is nothing we do that doesn´t include this factor. Every decision we make, is a reflection of this simple truth and the values that support it.
In Casco, we´ve been blessed with a community that looks for solutions, networks and works hard together. From donations of food and masks for those in need, to organized groups to walk the dogs of those who can´t go out because of the restrictions. We´ve been amazed at the speed of which people got organized, the level of entrepreneurship, creativity and generosity. From this experience I´m starting to deeply believe that while love will continue to propel the world forward and upwards, the boat will be built of the strength that comes from our communities, our values, and very particularly , how we treat each other.
Below you´ll see photos of the delivery of food of the network Santa Ana Lidera, an initiative that was created years ago and has been ongoing in Santa Ana building leadership. It was created by our mother company, Conservatorio S.A. and the Community Innovators Lab at Massachusets Institute of Technology. If you wish to donate to this effort, see details of the foundation below that is receiving funds to distribute food.
