Panama Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo
This is what happens when you live in Casco Viejo and are plugged into all the community ngo`s that work here:
Saturday morning: beach cleaning! help gather material to build a fantastic Christmas Tree with volunteers from the Casco Viejo neighborhood association (AVACA) while helping the environment. Do good in no time: 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
The fun continues: run home, get changed and ready for brunch at the American Trade Hall for a family event. Really nice food, after the beach cleaning, my body welcomes all the calories, including gummy bears.
Go home, nap, walk the dog, work on your urban garden.
4 p.m. Get ready for the PRISMA contemporary dance festival, go to a super interesting performance by French troup at the Kiwanis gym in Chorrillo. Burn calories just from looking at them. Amazing.
Back from PRISMA, I realize it is the “Lobato Day” for the Scouts, the whole gang is gathered by the basketball field at Santa Familia doing activities and games to celebrate. Children everywhere.
Sunday: wake up, walk the dog to Las Clementinas and have brunch there. They`ve started to offer on Sundays Venezuelan breakfast. Chef Paula is from Venezuela, and she missed her home made food, so she started cooking and the trend started growing. I`m an arepa fan, so we ordered Reina Pepiada and huevos pericos with caraotas (black beans). After that, lazy Sunday took over, the perfect scenario to read and relax. I`m kind of sad I missed the Dog Fashion Show at Cinta Costera at 2 p.m. Next time!
