That’s how they roll!

Sundays are definitely a wonderful day to take a leisure ride! But instead of hopping in the car and burning your gas, take a nice bike ride to Casco!  By chance, this Sunday I ran into some friends whose hobby is bicycle riding. So they routinely ride their bikes with their whole family from Paitilla to Casco on Sundays. They told me that a lot of people like doing that because they can park their bikes at Unido where there’s a trusty bike rack (see picture), and then have a coffee inside. Afterwards they spend their Sunday walking around Casco. … Continue reading

Shopping for Antiques in Casco Viejo, Panama

Panama Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo One of the founders of Arco Properties had a passion for antique furniture. I learned a lot from him, developing an eye for interesting stuff hidden in the houses in the barrio. The oldest one in the … Continue reading

Love Chocolate? Love Casco Viejo!

Panama Casco Antiguo, Casco Viejo Yesterday we passed by Casa Sucre, the coffee shop at B Avenue and 8th street and was very, very impressed with their chocolate cake.  What a beauty! To kind of justify the calories, we ordered a mango & spices tea. Fantastic combination! Fully recommended. And speaking of chocolate and tea, Espacio Karuna at Los Del Patio have started to do “Chocolate, tea and yoga” events more often. Here is the info!

Celebrating December Drinking Saril

Panama Casco Antiguo Saril, the vibrant red spicy juice every Panamanian loves to drink in Christmas time! for the first time I was able to grow the plant in my backyard, and finally drink 100% “organic” saril!!!  I didn´t even know how to make it, as there is this mystic about the recipe, but Mario, the town painter who is from Chiriquí and loves to plant told me to boil the flowers as if I was making tea with a bit of giger and clove.  I didn´t have clove, but ginger I have always tons in the house. Did it … Continue reading

Panama Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo Real Estate For Sale, For Rent at Panama`s Historic District   US former President Bill Clinton was seen this past week roaming the streets of Casco Viejo, Panama`s 300 year old colonial city. He came to Panama to give a conference called “Embracing our common humanity” and during his brief time in our country he visited two sites: the Panama Canal and Casco Antiguo.
