Panama Casco Viejo – Casco Antiguo
When I saw the Gioconda outside I was like…. Ok… not sure about this one ( I mean, I really love Leonardo, but somehow the Gioconda was never my favorite). HOWEVER, I got such wonderful comment from one of my Italian friends who went there that I had to re consider. Better than my words, hers:
“From my experience, and as an Italian, I would add that the pasta is very good. Juan makes it on site and in front of his customers, like and old-fashioned Italian pasta shop. My favorite dishes are the gnocchi ones, both the plantain gnocchi with sweet-red-pepper sauce (Gnocchi de Plátano En salsa de Ají Dulce) and the smoked-pepper gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce (Gnocchi con Pimientos Ahumados En salsa de Gorgónzola). All the sauces are homemade as well, and they do home delivery. They are open for breakfast (they make omelettes, empanadas, eggs and pancakes), lunch and dinner and have free wi-fi.”
