Panama Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo
Walkability! try saying it loud several times together, it can be tricky! but the concept is quite simple: how walkable is the place/neighborhood/ community you live in. This simple fact happens to add and keep value in your real estate. And we are not talking only about Casco Viejo, one of the few places in Panama City where you can walk everywhere, but in walkable places around the world. Check out this interesting article about walkability and real estate prices!
Want to add research over research? I was just reading the last National Geographic magazine, which main article is about the new generation living up to 120 years old. The article quoted scientists who have studied people on their 90s and even past their 100`s, trying to figure out what they have in common and how that can help the rest achieve a better quality of life and hopefully longer life spam. Of course there was the ever present DNA thing, the mitochondria this and that, but when it comes to environment they all had something in common: the communities they lived in had strong ties. They were active people who walked everywhere, mingled with their neighbors because of how the neighborhoods where established. So it happens that being able to walk around and during that walk mingle with people where you know them and they know you… that alone adds years to your life.
Imagine that! something so simple: walkable districts not only add dollars to your investment, they seem also to add years to your life!
