Panama Casco Viejo
When I finally take a minute to stop whatever I`m doing to look around Casco to see what is going on and who is doing something interesting, I´m always pleasantly surprised. The sum of the small pieces here and there, made me realize that living in Casco Viejo is truly an experience beyond the apartment you buy or rent.
I`ve decided to start a small series of postings called “live, love, learn, Casco Viejo” where I`ll explore not only the real estate part of where can you live and for how much, but also the small things you can do while living here that gets you learning and loving it. The best? is that all of these experiences are walking distance from you!
Here is my first one: Learning and Loving Coffee:

Did I tell you the owners were passionate about coffee? if you are too, don´t miss their classes/ tastings. They call it Coffee Cupping (or cup tasting) with a professional. You will be able to learn how to differentiate coffees with your nose and in the cup: different processes, elevations and roast profiles of the coffees that we grow, process and roast. Have to say, it is very interesting. I`m not a coffee person but my husband is. But even for me, I`ve learned a lot and I can now enjoy it better. Who knew that coffee could have a flower taste?
You will go home recognizing between a good and a bad coffee, plus you will know the best ways to roast and prepare your coffee at home. They can also arrange for you to watch a batch of coffee being roasted in the roasting room.
