Panama Casco Antiguo
“El Barón Rojo” (The Red Baron) is a small café at Calle 4ta and Avenida A, next to Arco Properties. Brand new spot, so you won`t see the sign out yet! but you`ll see the chairs outside. Their specialty: wonderful breakfasts which they serve starting at 7 a.m. and don´t stop until 3 p.m.
So far we`ve tried the granola with fruit and yogurt which is served in a very generous bowl and the pineapple juice was in one of those high 1 pint glasses you (well, not sure if “you” but any Panamanian) would link to carnival beer drinking. Loved it! give me that much of fresh pineapple juice anytime!
My next move will be to try the vegetarian big breakfast: two poached free-range eggs on grain toast, homemade hash browns, garlic mushrooms, tomato, spinach and avocado.
