Panama, Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo
A major source of confusion, even for those in the know. Isn´t San Felipe, Casco? What is this story of Santa Ana being part of Casco? Is Santa Ana part of Casco Viejo? If someone says “Casco” … what is that person referring to?
Let´s start from the beginning.
Here is the deal: Casco Viejo is actually a composite of different neighborhoods. The whole of San Felipe, and a piece of Santa Ana. To differentiate this piece, we have coined the phrase Santa Ana Patrimonial. Ever since “Casco” got designated as a World Heritage Site, both pieces have been “in”. However, it is only now that development, which started in 1998 at the very tip of the San Felipe peninsula, has reached Santa Ana.
To illustrate this in the map, please take a look at the following video. Apologies that the graphic isn´t super exact, but you´ll get the idea!
And for those of you looking to invest in Santa Ana, here is a video of La Quince, a five building district already delivering units this year.
