Swan Lake, as a climate change commentary

Panama, Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo Last Thursday, we went to the Prisma Dance Festival performance at the Anita Villalaz Theatre in Casco Viejo.  Two companies. one from Hungary and one from South Korea. Ferenc Feher from Hungary had an interesting concept based on the Tao Te Ching about humans living in harmony. But it was the South Korean troupe that stole the night with Swan Lake, five swans losing their homes due to pollution, dying at the end of exhaustion. Tchaikovsky´s music had the perfect notes for everything: drama and comedy. But the end was done in silence, as it … Continue reading

Colonial Religious Art Museum, Casco Viejo

Panama Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo When visiting the Arco Chato you now can visit the Colonial Religious Art museum. This is where the 700 year old bell from La Merced went after being taken down from the church during the restoration. It is next to other similar bells from around the country. Delicious Celebrations at American Trade Hall

Panama Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo Mother`s day at the American Trade Hall in Casco Viejo was awesome: music, kids running around getting their faces painted, mimosas in every hand, excellent food and desserts.  The place looked like a war zone afterwards, kids happily asleep, exhausted after playing so much. Some, like my nephews where still going… but they are like that battery TV commercial with the pink bunny and the drum… I wished I had brought my dog Chispa, I think she is the only one that can match their energy levels!
