Whales, dolphins, turtles and surf: Casco Charters

Panama, Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo Just went on a full day trip with Casco Charters. I am not kidding: we saw everything. Granted, this is whale watching season, but I was not expecting to see turtles and dolphins. Plus, my husband caught some waves! Casco Charters is a new service in Casco Viejo that can take you explore Panama´s bay. Whether it is a 20 minute ride to Taboga, or a full expedition to Pearl Islands, it is as easy as it is amazing. Prisma Dance Festival 2014

Panama Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo Prisma is back! Their slogan this year: “Everything you see, Everything you feel”.  Love it! This year it includes companies from Italy, France, Israel and more. Music Festival this weekend! Alliance Francaise in Casco

Panama, Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo Known as Fete de la Musique, this festival is organized by the Alliance Francaise in Panama.  Check out the schedule on what is where. Tomorrow they`ll start at 2 p.m. at Plaza Herrera and at 4 p.m. at Plaza Francia.  Enjoy!

Atelier at Teatro Amador

Panama Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo You wouldn´t see it from the street, and yet it is one of the best restaurants in Casco Viejo.  To get to Atelier you have to go through the left door at Teatro Amador and go upstairs. And then, a beautiful surprise, a boutique style restaurant with what they`ve called “soul food”.  Run by Andrés Madrigal and his wife Valle,  Atelier has a fantastic ambiance and lovely food.  It also hosts events like cooking classes and workshops during the day. TEDx Panama City at Teatro Amador

Panama, Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo I couldn´t believe it. I was in a line (and a long one!) to get into Teatro Amador. But it wasn´t the latest concert of the latest celebrity. We were all there to assist to TEDx Panama City, and the conversation was to be about culture and identity. We had a blast. Flying Poetry: La Tribu Performance at Plaza Herrera

Panama, Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo Saturday and Sunday Plaza Herrera was packed: everyone waiting to see the full show “Cayendo Volando” by La Tribu Performance, an experimental circus group that blends the usual circus acrobatics with aerial dancing. In this case, dancing on top of building facades! The whole show was very well put together, La Tribu worked together with Organización Efímera (Spain), Circo Andante (Perú) and Carolina Cabañas (Costa Rica), together they won the Fondo Iberescena for the arts 2014. Museum Night Tonight!

Panama Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo Three museums are joining hands in a first event called “Museum Night”: Bio Diversity Museum (BioMuseo) at Amador, Canal Museum (Casco Viejo) and Contemporary Art Museum (MAC). The full circuit consists on a tour between the three, and it will start at 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. The MAC will have an exhibition by Panamanian artist Manuel Adán Vásquez, and from the collective work studio Estudio Nuboso.  The BioMuseo will show its permanent exhibition showing how Panama worked as a bridge for life to meet between continents.  The Canal Museum in Casco will show Panama`s … Continue reading
