A Gay Friendly, Art Friendly Casco Viejo in Panama
A new client recently asked me “Is Casco Viejo gay friendly?” For a moment I had to think about the question. You see, growing up as a ballet dancer I never even gave a thought to it. Continue reading
British Travel to Panama: The Guardian Features Casco Viejo Nightlife
A few days ago I got an email from a journalist at The Guardian, as they´ve found somehow my postings on La Casona in Casco Viejo. It was quite exciting, this is my first collaboration with international press! Here is the article: Continue reading

Quintessentially Extravaganza Party in Casco Antiguo
Last night most of Panama´s socialites (or our version of it anyways) gathered in Paseo Las Bovedas, to the launch party of Quintessentially. I have to say I was pretty impressed by the organization, especially in Panama! if you don´t know them yet, check out their website: http://www.quintessentially.com/index.php?lang=PA It was a white linen extravaganza, so everyone had to show up in white. It was easy for me, but I know of someone that had to wear his judo pants… Well, no one noticed and I´m sure he was not the only one. The party started at the bouganvillea walk (Paseo … Continue reading
Drum Fest in Casco Viejo … and Jazz Fest coming up soon
This is one of the things I enjoy most of living in Casco Viejo: there is always an interesting cultural event going on. Last sunday it was Drum Fest… a loud but very enjoyable (somehow) event where hearts pumped at the drums of all sorts of musicians. Preparing for Jazz Fest? (remember its from January 21th to 26th) probably! but I´m also glad that drums where taken in consideration seriously enough to have it´s own place. For me, Panamanian drums are one of the best places to look for fusion between cultures. Why? because Panama is a complete blend between … Continue reading
Nightlife in Casco Viejo, Panama
One of the things I enjoy the most of living here is the fact that “going out” is as easy as walking to my favorite restaurant or bar. Somehow I realized there is no guide with all the contacts of Restaurants, Bars and other businesses in the Casco, so here it goes: Restaurants: Ego & Narciso: One beside the other at Plaza Bolivar. Wonderful peruvian tapas at Ego and very good italian food at Narciso. You can order from both, no problem! the owner is thinking on opening a third one in the same plaza… so coming soon! 262-2045 CasaBlanca: … Continue reading
