A fully renovated San Francisco de Asis Church opens

Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo, Panama A beautifully restored St Francis of Asis Church received everyone this Easter weekend. Hundreds of visitors on a couple of days, the place looks amazing.  What I particularly love about this church is how present nature is: moon, sun, rainbows. This is the only church that every year does a pet procession, which I´m very fond of. Congratulations to Ricardo Gago and Mario Lewis for this amazing effort!

La Michoacana, Casco Viejo

Panama, Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo   Like nothing I´ve ever seen in Casco before: people literally in a line, trying to get in. That is a first. Just like a really busy restaurant in New York or something like that, La Michoacana has clearly become Casco´s new addiction, at the corner of B Avenue and 8th Street. I haven´t tried their lolly pops, and now I´m scared to try them. Maybe if I do, I will too be making the line every Friday night… My solution is to ask you to go and tell me!

Macro Market & Entrepreneurship

Panama, Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo I think the entrepreneurial movement that Panama is experiencing is historic and exciting.  People from all parts of our society, sharing, exchanging… producing. Yes, producing with their own hands whatever their label is selling, literally from their parents home. This is the Panamanian version of a startup in a garage. For someone that knows Panamanian society this is groundbreaking, and best of all, gathering momentum. This weekend at MACRO we could see a good part of the best vendors that produce art /design/ fashion related merchandise. They are getting better and having fun while at … Continue reading

He´s been producing paintings and drawings of Casco Viejo and life in general. Using everything he can get his hands on,  I´ve heard he´s even used melted candy to paint when didn´t have money to buy proper paint.  This … Continue reading
