Flying Poetry: La Tribu Performance at Plaza Herrera

Panama, Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo Saturday and Sunday Plaza Herrera was packed: everyone waiting to see the full show “Cayendo Volando” by La Tribu Performance, an experimental circus group that blends the usual circus acrobatics with aerial dancing. In this case, dancing on top of building facades! “Absurd Writing”, Contemporary Dance at Teatro Amador

Panama, Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo Human express themselves in such different ways. The key is to convey, whether it is in writing, painting, singing, or in this case, dancing. Museum Night Tonight!

Panama Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo Three museums are joining hands in a first event called “Museum Night”: Bio Diversity Museum (BioMuseo) at Amador, Canal Museum (Casco Viejo) and Contemporary Art Museum (MAC). The full circuit consists on a tour between the three, and it will start at 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. The MAC will have an exhibition by Panamanian artist Manuel Adán Vásquez, and from the collective work studio Estudio Nuboso.  The BioMuseo will show its permanent exhibition showing how Panama worked as a bridge for life to meet between continents.  The Canal Museum in Casco will show Panama`s … Continue reading

Panama Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo American Trade Hotel just opened it`s bakery space! “UNIDO, Panama Coffee Roasters” by Panamanian chef Mario Castrellón, better known as Maito. If you`ve been following Panama`s culinary world, you might have noticed his restaurant showing up in the top 5 no matter what the conversation is about, and with really good reasons! Open for lunch, La Casona at Calle 5ta has transformed their space into a vegetarian café. They also have a juice bar, with smoothies and energetic combinations using kale, ginger and tropical fruits and vegetables. Enjoy!

When it really matters.

Panama, Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo Last Sunday, Casco Viejo`s community came together to help a large number of families victim to an accidental fire. In a matter of hours, lists and donations were organized, by 6 a.m. on the following day a team was in place with tasks, headquarters and social media strategies.  It made me think a lot about Casco Viejo, and its true value.
