Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo New kid in town! Tantalo Hotel just opened doors this past week (soft opening). Although their official debut is on March 16th, they are already hosting fashion events (like this Friday) at their roof terrace. What makes it distinctive is its beautiful green wall inside (love it!) and the fact that each room has been decorated by a Panamanian artist. It is lovely how each business in Casco Viejo is bringing a totally different angle and energy to our colonial city! Location: B Avenue, between Casa del Horno Hotel and Las Clementinas Hotel. New Restaurant in Casco Viejo: L`Osteria at Casa del Horno
Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo, Panama Last night, casqueños gathered at L`Osteria, the new restaurant at Casa del Horno. Beautiful calicanto stone walls give you a cozy ambiance: perfect for homemade Italian cuisine by chef Barbara. L’osteria: from the Latin “hospes” meaning “guest”. A public place which served drinks; traditionally wine. Derived from the ancient Roman “caupona”, in the Middle Ages the osteria was a place where the traveler could find food and lodging. So there you go! Initially, they`ll welcome guests just for dinner, starting at 6 p.m. Once the construction at B Avenue is finished, they`ll open for lunch. … Continue reading
Delicious Crepes at La Petite Bretagne in Casco Viejo
Casco Viejo, Panama, Casco Antiguo One of the things I love about Casco is its eclectic community. People from all around the World have come here to live and to bring the best of their culture. This is the case of La Petite Bretagne, a small creperie that just opened at Central Avenue and 11th, next to the Lottery building and a couple of steps away from Las Clementinas. I had a wonderful honey and lemon crepe (with tea, of course!), a great way to end my afternoon.

March is the month! 22 to 28th of March, and although most presentations will be in the Anita Villalaz and Los Del Patio in Casco Viejo, we still don´t have a full calendar. They finished the entire round: swimming, riding bicycle and running for a total of 70.3 miles. Incredible! On the cheering crowd we had the Casco Viejo IronMatt team, screaming to the top of our longs! The official Ironman website commentator said that he had never seen so many people … Continue reading
