Casco Viejo`s Sundown Beauty

Panama Casco Viejo Real Estate and Lifestyle at Casco Viejo For all it`s craziness during the day, Casco Viejo has also its quiet and beautiful moments.  My favorite is sundown, when I take my Chispa for a walk.  You often find couples strolling hand by hand, children playing in the parks or just people enjoying “being there”.  From the smallest corner at Las Bovedas or the romantic roof terrace at Las  Clementinas, every corner becomes a very intimate experience.

Easter: A Special History Treat at Casco Viejo, Panama

Casco Viejo, Panama City, Panama A classic Panamanian tradition during Easter is to visit at least seven churches to pray and/or leave candles at their door.  Casco Viejo, being Panama`s colonial city, makes this task quite easy as it offers several options. Among the best known are the Cathedral Church, San José`s Church (or Golden Altar), San Francisco de Asis (now closed for repairs), La Merced Church, Santa Ana Church… and the hidden and always closed to the public San Felipe Neri. San Felipe Neri is located at the corner of Plaza Bolivar. Once upon a time, it stood alone … Continue reading

Easter Egg Hunt at Clementinas, Casco Viejo

Panama, San Felipe, Casco Viejo Real Estate and Lifestyle at Panama`s Historic City When I heard about the Easter Egg hunt at Clementinas, I confess I had flashbacks of my ballet students running all over the place, creating chaos and getting in all sorts of trouble just because they can.  But nothing even close to that! I`m happy to report it was the cutest event in the world! “hunters” got their eggs and with great surprise opened them to discover all sorts of goodies inside… Happy Easter!

Arco Properties featured at Blank Magazine, Panama

Real Estate at Casco Viejo, Panama City, Panama. Check out “The Future of the Past” is Blank`s article on Arco Properties and Casco Viejo!  They interviewed us about real estate and how we envision Casco`s future.  We talked a lot about projects, the importance of social housing and the community`s vision for an eclectic, vibrant neighborhood.  But even with all my “stage” training I got a bit nervous in front of the camera!   Luckily, I was in good hands… thanks Francisco (Barsallo) for such great photos! and to Rafa, Maristella and Solange for putting it together!

Las Clementinas Reviewed at La Prensa

Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo, Panama Real Estate at Casco Viejo Aristologa is one of Panama`s toughest restaurant reviewers.  Of course, that is not her real name, as she finds anonymity useful when walking to a restaurant (although I`ll tell you, it is quite difficult to keep secrets in such a small country!!). Last week, Las Clementinas Café  at Casco Viejo (Panama) passed her difficult test.  She loved the coconut milk soup and the sea bass, probably my two favorite dishes.  She liked the hamburger, but thought the cheese was a bit lost in the combination that includes caramelized onions. I … Continue reading

Travel Around Casco Viejo in Style! is the Old Tram Back?

Casco Viejo, Casco Antiguo, Panama Lifestyle and Real Estate at Panama`s Historic City Panama`s old tram used to roam Casco Viejo until the early 40`s. Back then, it connected Panama City and the Canal Zone up to what is still known as “La Boca”.  Although there has been an effort to bring the trolley back,  Monica Salazar from “Viajes y Destinos” , a travel agency in Panama City, just couldn´t wait and decided to offer it as a tour. First they included Panama Viejo, Casco Viejo and the Panama Canal.  However, demand within Casco Viejo grew, as there are so … Continue reading
